An index, not a brand page

Every other WebMCP directory we could find is a self-submission catalog — you type in a URL, nobody checks it again. That's not a knock on them, it's just what happens when a directory doesn't have a way to re-verify a site itself. Site Passport is built specifically to close that gap: pull a site's own public manifest on a schedule, and let a listing rise or fall on what's actually still true.

That only stays credible if the index isn't quietly a marketing page for anyone. The scoring methodology is published and versioned, and every check runs the same way regardless of what a site does or doesn't run. Who sponsors this site is disclosed once, in the footer, rather than woven through the copy.

Where we are today, honestly: the free scan (Discoverability, Bot Access, Content) is real and live — try it on the homepage. The full verified-directory listing and leaderboard, tied to live tool-exposure verification on the target site, is still in development. This page will say so the moment that changes.
